Akeso’s Grip Socks are a low-profile sock with a non-slip sole, built for any activity where traction and stability on smooth surfaces matter. Yoga, pilates, gym training, trampoline parks, or just moving around the house in socks. Metis PCA™ fibre handles the hygiene side, keeping feet dry and odour-free through extended wear.
Akeso’s Grip Socks sit below the ankle line and are cut to stay out of sight during wear. The grip sole works on most studio, mat, and hard floor surfaces without marking or sliding, and the elastane blend holds the sock in place through a full session without slipping under the heel.
Metis PCA™ fibre has been independently tested to AATCC 100-2012 standard, achieving a 99.95% bacterial reduction rate. It also carries Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification, confirming it is free from harmful substances.
Made from Metis PCA™ 54.5%, Nylon 44%, Elastane 1.5%.

Most antibacterial socks use a surface treatment (silver ions, chemical finishes) that degrades with washing. Metis PCA™ is antibacterial, antifungal, and moisture-wicking at the polymer level. The property is built into the fibre and acts both within the fibre and on the surfaces the sock touches, so it does not wash out early like a coating.
Yes. Independent AATCC 100-2012 testing on Metis PCA™ fibre showed a 99.95% reduction in Staphylococcus aureus, and ASTM G21-96 testing showed zero fungal growth after 28 days against five fungal species, versus heavy growth on the untreated control.
No. Metis PCA™ wicks moisture away from the skin rather than soaking it up. Your feet stay drier during wear, and the socks dry faster between wears. This trips up people used to cotton, which holds moisture against the skin.
No. It is built into the fibre itself, not applied as a surface coating. There is nothing sprayed or dipped onto the outside, and no chemical nasties: the fibre is Oeko-Tex Standard 100 tested. Because the property is inside the fibre, there is nothing to wash off. It inhibits bacterial growth both within the fibre and on the surfaces it touches, for as long as the fibre lasts.
Odour comes from bacteria. Metis PCA™ inhibits bacteria proliferating both within the fibre and on the surfaces the sock touches, including your skin, so it works against odour at the source rather than masking it. Tested to AATCC 100-2012 with 99.95% bacterial reduction. What it cannot do is clear bacteria already built up inside your footwear. It will still help, and often the smell has simply transferred from the boot to the sock, so airing the socks out is usually enough to get them ready again.
The antifungal and antibacterial properties create a less hospitable environment for the microbes behind common issues like fungal growth and odour. Some customers have told us the socks helped with their foot problems, but we cannot make a medical claim on that basis. If you have a diagnosed condition, follow your doctor's advice.
The performance lasts as long as the fibre does. Because the technology is built into the fibre rather than coated on, it does not wash out early like surface treatments. It will gradually wane as the fibre wears down over the life of the sock, the same way any fabric ages.
Machine wash inside out. The antimicrobial performance is built into the fibre, so no special detergent or care is needed to preserve it. Washing inside out also clears initial lint faster.
A small amount of surface lint is a normal part of manufacturing, not a fault. It clears after the first few washes. Turn the socks inside out to speed it up.
No. Our Personal Bushfire Protection Blanket is 100% Metis PCA™ and used by emergency services, but the socks use a blended construction for comfort and fit. Do not treat them as fire protection.
Metis PCA™ fibre stops odour-causing bacteria growing in the sock, so feet stay fresh through days of wear.
Sweat is wicked away from the skin, not absorbed, so feet stay dry through long days on your feet.
Protection is built into the fibre at the polymer level, not a surface coating, so it never washes out. Lab-tested to AATCC 100-2012 and ASTM G21-96.
